At the BAM, Specialist Group "Safety of Containers for Transport and Storage" is responsible for testing and approving radioactive substances in special forms as well as for type testing and the quality assured production of packagings for the shipment of radioactive substances

Further Competences

According to the dangerous goods legislation, further competences in this field lie with the Federal Institute for Radiation Protection (BfS). The states also have further competences.
